This collection includes postcards depicting various historical and recreational sites, as well as maritime scenes of Cape Ann during the early to mid-twentieth century.

Postcards depicting scenes of Beverly, Mass.

Published postcards of Wakefield that represent the town as it looked at various times in its history. Many are from the heyday of the picture postcard in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Photographs and paintings of the Beebe family, as well as paintings by local artists like Tom Morse.

Most items in this collection were generously donated to the Library by Henry "Spud" Murphy. Others smaller portions were donated by Carl Soule, Jr., Beverly Stone, and other individual donations. Digitized with the support of a grant from the Reading Celebration Trust's Historical Preservation Fund.

These photographs have been the property of the Reading Public Library for many years. They were digitized with the support of a grant from the Reading Celebration Trust's Historical Preservation Fund. One portion of the collection was the personal photo album of Mrs. Albert F. (Martha Cook) Converse, others are donations to the collection from various individuals.

Images of Phillips Academy's storied athletics teams and competitive and recreational events.

Oral histories created as part of the project, "Toward an Oral History of Cape Ann." These oral histories were originally recorded on audio tape, later copied to compact disc and digitized by the Sawyer Free Library in 2009.

Beebe Library’s “Wakefield Then & Now” photo contest asked entrants to select a historic photo of Wakefield and go out and take a matching photo of the same location today. This collection includes the original images and corresponding entries from the 2010 contest.
