This is the modest version of Abbot Academy's seal. In the original version this same Truth was draped with a single breast exposed. Emily Means had first designed the seal with a reverance for classical sculpture. In the 1890's Miss Watson had the breast covered. It was changed at the request of Miss Bailey to the Abbot family crest in the 1920's.
